Prior to joining Belvedere, Mr. Gertz was President and Chief Executive Officer of the California Bankers Association – one of the largest state bank trade associations in the United States, representing 300 bank and thrift members. Previously, Mr. Gertz was a Partner with KPMG assisting community and ‘de novo’ banks with secondary offerings, due diligence, acquisition strategy and audit. He has also served as EVP, CFO and Chief of Staff at First Interstate Bank of California, a $20 billion bank acquired by Wells Fargo. Mr. Gertz currently serves on the Board of Directors of Rabobank, N.A. and is Chairman of the Audit Committee; Rabobank, N.A. is a $8 Billion commercial bank headquartered in Roseville California with banking activities in the Imperial Valley, Central Valley and Salinas Valley.
Mr. Gertz graduated from San Jose State with a BS in Accounting and is a California Certified Public Accountant.
